App of the week: Time Out

We’ve all heard it: You need to take breaks to improve our overall efficiency. Don’t sit at your laptop for hours on end. Go take a walk. Stretch. Anything, just get out of your chair.

But how many of us actually do that? I mean, I know we have the best intentions to, but sometimes it just slips our mind.

Time Out can take care of that for us. Choose what kind of break you want to take (i.e. a “Normal” break for ten minutes every hour, a “Micro” break for 15 seconds every 15 minutes, or something custom), and when it comes time for your break, your screen will fill with a semi-transparent window to remind you to take it. It’s impossible to miss, but you can also opt to postpone your break if you find that you’re on a roll with whatever you’re working on. Highly customisable!
