We’re down to the last month! It might be easier to live in denial, but trust me, it’ll be easier to deal with if you plan for it right now!
Sleep is good, life is good
I had the craziest beginning of the week, staying up the latest I’ve stayed, and for two consecutive nights, trying to get my labs in on time. It was a pretty miserable time. I got worried, I got stressed, and the littlest things would send me into panic.
But once I got those labs in, I slept very well the next two nights, and my outlook completely switched. I was ready to seize the day, motivated to stay on top of things and focus in class so that I wouldn’t find myself where I was at the beginning of the week.
Remember, a bad day, a bad few days, or even a bad week, doesn’t mean that it’s a bad life <3
Room Draw
It’s that time of year again! Make sure you’re reading your emails from Angie, the most recent of which is titled “ROOM DRAW: IMPORTANT INFORMATION.” In case you didn’t notice, there’s important information in that email 🙂
Make sure you…
- Check your class standing on the Room Draw lists on the Residential Life website to make sure your name is on the list and is in the correct class year
- Friday, March 17-Tuesday, March 21: Housing Sign Up form needs to be completed; Hall group and multiple occupancy forms will be available online
- Monday, March 20: Applications for Batten House, ECC, and the Tri-Co Housing Exchange are due at 9am.
Here’s a blog post about things to consider for room draw that I’m digging up from the archives.
:)
Spring break!
See you in a week!
How do you take notes?
I have a friend who takes the most beautiful notes in class, and everything you could need is in her 5-subject notebook. Some other classmates may have a notebook per class; some other classmates may have a notebook for their MWF classes and another one for their TTh classes; some other classmates may have one notebook per subject (i.e. they will put the notes for all their computer science classes in one notebook); some other classmates may grab whatever loose sheet of paper they have. And some classmates may not take notes at all.
In grade school, you learn that you should take notes in class. Everyone. No matter what your learning style is. But now that you’re in college, you can do some more critical thinking. Does taking notes help you? Is there a different way of taking notes that could be more effective?

Setting up your iPhone to be less distracting
Everyone says to put away your phone, but who are we kidding? Here are small ways to set up your phone to make it less distracting. The different levels of commitment:
Show some love
Valentine’s Day is coming up next week! Don’t save all your love for this day, but show some extra love on this day. And it doesn’t need to be reserved for your significant other either! Show love to your family, your friends, and all the people in your life who are important to you. And show love to yourself! Self-care & self-love, heck yeah!
