1. Look for important diagrams, charts, or graphs in the text.
2. Practice skimming!
You do not have to read everything. Make strategic decisions on what reading is most important.
3. When reading a book, jot down what happens at the end of each chapter so you’ll remember the major plot events, facts, or arguments.
4. Use color-coded sticky notes when reading one or several books on the same topic.
This can be especially helpful if you’re writing a paper and need to refer back.
